Graduate Scholarship
GRADUATE SCHOLARSHIP ELIGIBILITY REQUIREMENTS:

The applicant must be graduating at the end of the academic year.

The applicant must have worked as an athletic training student for a period of at least two years at the college level.

The applicant must be enrolled in a curriculum leading to a graduate degree.

The applicant must have a grade point average of “B” or above.

The applicant must be sponsored by a certified athletic trainer who is a current member in good standing with the Alabama Athletic Trainers’ Association and the National Athletic Trainers’ Association.

Preference may be given to those NOT currently on full scholarship.

At time of application, the applicant must be a student member of the National Athletic Trainers' Association and enrolled in a CAATE-accredited Athletic Training Program in the state of Alabama.

It must be the intent of the applicant to pursue the profession of athletic training or related field as a means of his/her livelihood.

The applicant must submit an Official Transcript including most recent semester. This may be mailed by applicant to the below address or sent directly from the Registrar’s office.

The applicant must request a letter of recommendation from someone other than the supervising athletic trainer. The recommendation must be submitted via the online Letter of Recommendation Form. The letter should be from a person felt to be best be able to judge the applicant's qualities and abilities in the areas of academics and social involvement.

Utilizing the Scholarship Application Form, the applicant is required to submit a one-page biographical description including a statement as to why he or she feels that they should be awarded the scholarship.

The applicant must have his or her supervising athletic trainer complete the Sponsoring Athletic Trainer's Evaluation Form here.

Optional - please email to atlargeone@alathletictrainers.org a recent photograph saved as a .jpg or .gif file using the applicant's last name followed by first name (e.g. 'DoeJohn.jpg'). This photograph may be published in the ALATA Newsletter, an ALATA A-Blast or on the ALATA website.
