Daniel Lindsey

Daniel Lindsey currently serves as an Athletic Trainer for Troy University where he is responsibility overseeing day to day sports medicine operations for Troy Football. He earned his Bachelor of Science in Athletic Training from Troy University in 2011 and a Master of Arts in Education from the University of Alabama at Birmingham in 2014. His career includes providing care to student-athletes at Jacksonville State University, Birmingham-Southern College, UAB, and Georgia Southern University.

In addition to his clinical work, Daniel is actively involved in advancing the athletic training profession. He currently serves the Alabama Athletic Trainers’ Association on the Government Affairs, Collegiate & Professional Athletic Trainers, and ATs Care Committees; represents Alabama on the NATA District 9 Government Affairs Committee; and is a member of the Alabama Athletic Trainers’ Advisory Council, where he served as Council Chair from July 2023 through June 2024.

His previous service includes holding leadership roles on the ALATA Executive Council as Non-Officer Position 2 and Secretary, as well as contributing to the Alabama Athletic Trainers’ Practice Act Task Force that produced the 2021 update of the Alabama Athletic Trainers Licensure Act. He has also volunteered at major international events, including the 2022 World Games in Birmingham and the 2017 Maccabiah Games in Israel.

Through these roles, Daniel has developed a focus on advocacy, collaboration, and strengthening the practice of athletic training in our state. If elected to the office of Secretary, Daniel is committed to supporting his colleagues on the ALATA Executive Council and continuing to advance the profession for the benefit of the athletic trainers and the communities that we serve in the State of Alabama.
