Mitch Harris

Mick Harris is a licensed and nationally certified Athletic Trainer. Mick started his undergraduate career at Fort Hays State University, and earned his Bachelor of Science in Athletic Training but also worked as an EMT for the local EMS department. This dual role allowed him to serve as an AT-EMS liaison, leading classes on the proper removal of football equipment and ensuring seamless interoperability in the case of a catastrophic injury of an equipment-laden athlete.

Following his undergraduate studies, Mick pursued a master’s in Exercise, Performance, and Health Optimization at Auburn University. During this time, he served as a graduate assistant athletic trainer for the university’s ROTC programs. This unique experience, working closely with military personnel and providing medical care and support to cadets and midshipmen, solidified his passion for integrating athletic training within military settings.

Mick currently holds the full-time athletic trainer position with Auburn's ROTC programs. In this role, he provides comprehensive healthcare to 500 cadets, midshipmen, and the associated cadre. More than just providing care, Mick is also developing a human performance group and working with Auburn University partners to create a comprehensive, collaborative resource for nutrition, strength, and conditioning for ROTC members.

Mick is an active member of several professional organizations, including the Alabama Athletic Trainers Association (ALATA), the National Athletic Trainers’ Association (NATA), and the Armed Forces Athletic Training Society (AFATS). Mick currently resides in Auburn with his dog and enjoys spending time with friends and being in the outdoors.
