Welcome to your first “A”-blast message! We hope that within this new format, you find the information and connections that you need in order to help you within your setting. First, thank you to those that were able to join us at the 2019 ALATA Clinical Symposia & Members’ Meeting. We hope that you were able to walk away with new knowledge and a sense of pride for your state association. For those of you that were not at the meeting, we missed you and hope to see you in 2020. We are looking forward to spending time with you on the beach!

 

In this June edition of the ALATA A-blast, we have a few highlights from the announcements made at our previous Members’ Meeting and are asking for our member’s help. Below you will find the following information:

We are looking for a bit of feedback from our members on which weekend and timing of the meeting you think would work best. Below you will find a link to a very brief poll asking you for your input. The poll should not take longer than 5 minutes to complete and we are asking that all responses be complete by the end of the day Monday, July 1st. Keeping in mind that we are planning for the meeting to be over the course of three days but with afternoons saved for to enjoy time with friends and family in this beautiful location.

We have a new look! One of our main goals this year is to bring more awareness to the great people and awesome work within our state. With that in mind, we wanted to give our look a bit of an upgrade. We have married a few ALATA logos used in the past together to create our new logo and have created a new PR & Marketing Committee that has been given the objective to improve our image both internally and externally. The first effort that was made with this objective in mind was to update our website. After many months of planning and design, our finish product is now public! This new website also comes with a new domain address. Please see www.alathletictrainers.org for anything and everything athletic training within the state of Alabama. Take a look around! Check out pictures and resources to past events, all of the great state-based external resources we created, create a log in to our new Members only tab to get access to setting-based information and resources, and so much more.

 

If you have high quality pictures of anything to do with your practice athletic training (treating on/off the field, your facilities, communication between you and a coach/parent/athlete, etc.), we need them! Please send all pictures to be used on the website to Secretary Lindsey (alatasec@gmail.com).

We are looking for committee members on the Clinical, Industrial, Military Athletic Trainers Committee. This committee is dedicated to recognizing the unique concerns and responsibilities associated with the industrial, clinical, and military athletic training practice settings, and to developing and providing materials and information that may enhance the effectiveness and marketability of athletic trainers working in these settings.
